A sporting complex can add entertainment and benefits to local communities. A sports complex can be rented out or used to host tournaments that bring people from out of town. They can also be used by local organizations and schools. When planning, there are many factors that will need to be considered before designing and building a sports complex or field.

Who will be using the field?

The first thing to determine is who will be using your fields. This will impact the size, type, design, and materials used. Will you be hosting tournaments? Will local sports teams be using the facilities? What age groups are going to be using the fields?

Parking and Traffic

You could have the nicest sports complex in the world but if there is no parking, no one will be able to come for a game. Providing adequate parking is a significant factor in planning out your sports fields. Another consideration is whether or not you’ll need bus parking for school team tournaments.

As cars are coming in and out of the parking lot, it is important that your entrances and exits are safe as well as your lots for pedestrians and those getting out of their vehicles.

Materials you want to use

When planning out the fields and complex you have to choose the materials for a couple of different things. From seating to lights to turf, there will be options for all of it. Our team can help you decide which materials are best for what you have in mind and what would be best received by your audience.

Seating and Other Amenities for Guests

The sports park should not only be comfortable for the players but also for spectators and guests who come to watch the games. Think about what type of seating you want and how much you think you’ll need for each field.

Most sports fields have concession stands to sell snacks and drinks. Providing shaded areas is also something else to take into consideration, especially for the Houston climate. Where you want to put the restrooms will need to be decided.

A lot of sports parks also have playgrounds, picnic tables, and/or small trails for guests to use between games or just as a community amenity.
